Kansas LiDAR

This layer represents the polygonal grids for available LiDAR data from the State of Kansas. Users will have access to this layer in the side pane when a Location of Interest (LOI) is placed near available records. The grid polygons were downloaded from the Kansas Data Access and Support data portal then attributed with URLs linking to available downloads within the specific tile. When the user selects a tile, the pop-up bubble will show project name, GRID download, Bare Earth download, LAS download, Projection, DEM download, First returns download, and intensity image download.

2009 Rainwater Basin

In 2008, the NRCS-KS, USGS, and State of Kansas GIS Policy Board partnered with the NRCS-NE and State of Nebraska to collect LiDAR for the Rainwater River Basin as it reached into the State of Kansas. The four counties collected under this project Republic, Washington, Cloud, and Clay. This project was contracted through the US Army Corps of Engineers - St. Louis District and flown by MERRICK & Company.
